The Wall

The Wall

Ooooowaa mother, should I build a wall?

Pink Floyd's The Wall is one of the greatest theme albums of all time. In Roger Water's seminal work The Wall represents a psychological and emotional barrier against the world found in the heart of each person. This wall has been built up by people to protect themselves but ironically becomes a symbol of their alienation as well.

Team Moon Robotics extended this concept as we conceived and constructed our rendition of The Wall.

Here's a shot of the wall during "re-construction" at the 2006 RFL National Championships. The outer armor of the wall was constructed from 6" x 6" pressure treated lumber -- making in nearly as impenetrable as Roger Water's wall.

Below, Will and Teke scribe the moniker "Mother Should I Build The Wall" across the top and front beams of the robot. During the match between Star Hawk 3.0 and The Wall, they were able to convince the DJ to play a track from The Wall from their iPod on the event speaker system -- which was way cool.
